Hi there!
My name is Hannah Markowitz. I am a BFA graduate through Virginia Commonwealth University's (VCU) prestigious art school. My focus was in Film & Photography which led me to fall in love with photographing weddings. I have been a second shooter & assistant to "Bee Two Sweet Photography" as well as "Dimples & Cheeks Photography," working on over 20 weddings!
I knew that what I ultimately wanted to do was to photograph weddings, elopements and engagement sessions. Getting to document the biggest day of peoples lives is the biggest honor, and I feel blessed to get to bring my own artistic style into these monumental moments. My work has been categorized as "cinematic" and "theatrical" which I would say piggybacks off of my former career as a professional ballerina. I also get to bring my technical training in lighting to each session to accommodate for each situation (time of day, weather, etc.,)
My goal for each session is to photograph in a photo-journalistic fashion to feel un-staged and organic. I want to be the storyteller for YOUR day. I want you to be able to look back at your photos and be transported to the euphoria of your day without having to recall "forcing" any photos or poses. Of course, I want to capture the love and sentimental moments, but I also strive to showcase the moments of laughter and let each personality shine through.
